Cynthia’s key to achieving excellence in execution has been following the essential steps of strategy, positioning, and implementation. Guided by this formula, Cynthia has led companies to breakthrough results by pursuing further education and experience:

I. Doctorate of Business Administration, Athabasca University, currently enrolled. Cynthia’s focus is First Nations economic development in the context of a Modern Treaty Government and Non-Treaty Governments.

II. Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Graduated 2019, Athabasca University.

III. Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Management (PBDM – 1 year management at a Masters level), Graduated 2017, Athabasca University.

IV. Designed an “Indigenous Economic Development”, 4th-year degree course for Athabasca University. Cynthia is designated as a “Subject Matter Expert”.

V. Bachelor of Business, majoring in Marketing and Management, Graduated 2004, Vancouver Island University (Previously Malaspina University College).

VI. Business Management Diploma, Graduated 1994, Malaspina University College.

Certified as a “Professional Aboriginal Economic Developer” (PAED) by the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers (CANDO).

Cynthia has seven years of experience as Economic Development Officer to understand what economic development means to First Nations. Economic development is a multifaceted concept that encompasses various aspects that create successful businesses that empower communities to develop sustainable economic opportunities that align with their cultural identity and long-term vision.

Cynthia specializes in Business Plans, Business Cases, Marketing Plans, HR Plans, Operational Plans, Tourism Destination Plans, and Economic Development Plans.

Cynthia is distinguished by her passion for business, administration, collaborative team-building, and commitment to meeting the needs of the organizations. She has earned the respect and trust of the First Nations she has worked for. Cynthia’s heritage is truly diverse: she is of Nuu-chah-nulth, Kwakwaka’wakw , Gitk’san, English and Scottish descent.
